MANTRA SPORTS - BRINGING FITNESS HOME!

CHOOSE YOUR MANTRA - BE YOURSELF & NOT SOMEONE ELSE

Posted by Nigel Hawthorn on

There’s a really big, fat problem going on in the universe right now. And no, I don’t mean the obesity crisis, because that IS a big, “fat” problem too. But that’s another story altogether.

I’m referring to all the pictures and video clips you are bombarded with on social media, day in and day out. Things have gotten really out of hand. Every time you flip open your Instagram or Facebook app, you are staring at a fancied up woman or man, scantily clad and dolled up from head to toe.

Folks, let me be the first to tell you, this is not reality! It is marketing hype to get you to buy a product, powder, potion or program, and fatten someone else’s pocket. Do not be fooled into believing half-truths and Photoshop wizardry at the expense of your overall health. Let’s dive a little deeper into these waters.

We often try so hard to fit in and be accepted that we will go to extremes and risky lengths. And with all the online hype that goes on, you are left thinking you have to have a J-Lo butt or guns like Chris Hemsworth to be accepted into society. But you don’t!

That is all smoke and mirrors. What you need to do is start accepting yourself for who you are and what you have to offer the world. You are a beautiful and valuable person and do not let anyone ever tell you differently!

We all have ups and downs, and peaks and valleys. And so do the celebrities that you are always being brainwashed to look like. Everyone is still human, and on that level, the playing field is completely level too. It all starts with you changing your attitude and being grateful for the things you do have.

It’s easier said than done when it comes to being confident and accepting of yourself. But with some key strategies, you will find success faster than a hiccup. Here a few things you can do, starting right now:

  1. Read A Little Deeper.

Chances are, you are not as out of shape or unworthy as you think you are. We tend to always look at the negative side of things and create things in our minds that no one else even sees.

Instead of beating yourself up and focusing on the things that you think are bad, why not change your reality? Focus on the things that are good and going right instead. For example, you are the greatest person in the world. Why? Write it down and look at it every day.

You are a great listener, you are a great role model for your children, you are a great spouse, you are great at your job and you cheer people up with your humor when they are having a bad day.

Commit all this to memory and recite it often. You just figured out how much value you DO have, and you didn’t need to take a supplement or do a thousand butt squeezes a day to find it out.

  1. Make Exercise A Daily Practice.

You don’t need to get so extreme like you would if you were auditioning for a movie role, but working out comes with a plenitude of advantages. Aside from the physical benefits, it also gives you confidence, boosts your mood, improves your energy levels and enhances your brain function.

All of these things can go a long way in boosting your confidence and making you feel like the actor or rock star that you’re being told to look like.

  1. Pick Up Some Trash In The Neighborhood.

There is something very therapeutic about doing good deeds. And one of the easiest things you can do is pick up trash.

There is no shortage of littering in this world. If everyone picked up at least one piece of trash a day, that very same world would quickly become cleaner.

If you are a big contributor to this movement, it will make you feel good about yourself and that you are making a difference. You’d be shocked how much this can boost your self-image and energy levels.

 Wrapping It Up

Here’s a little bit of reality. No matter how bad you think you have it, there is always someone else who is worse off. That may sound cliché, but it is the absolute truth.

If you spend more of your time being grateful and less time comparing yourself to others, you will find a newfound freedom and level of happiness that you never had before. And then you will be at peace.

And with that, I bid you adieu & wish you all the best!

Kevin
